Fabio De Lillo Paparesta: Between Science and Art, The Story of a Multifaceted Journey

Daniel Balan

With over 12,000 followers on Instagram, Fabio De Lillo Paparesta describes himself as a teacher, actor, and medical biotechnologist. At Daniel Vision Lab, we reached out to discover more about his multifaceted career, his passions, and the experiences that have shaped his journey across different professional worlds.

Born in Bari in 1991 and later moving to Como, FABIO DE LILLO PAPARESTA has built a professional journey that brings together three distinct worlds: science, education, and acting. With more than 12,000 followers on Instagram, he has attracted attention for his diverse skills and his ability to pursue different interests while developing a career that extends beyond a single professional field. When asked about his childhood ambitions and educational background, Fabio looks back on the dreams he had growing up. “As a child, I dreamed of pursuing traditional professions, such as becoming a firefighter or a doctor. I have to say that my path eventually took me in a completely different direction. During my academic journey, I earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree.” His words reflect how the ambitions we develop as children can evolve over time, shaped by new experiences, opportunities, and interests that gradually lead us towards unexpected destinations. Today, Fabio balances three different professional worlds. He teaches at a secondary school, works in a hospital as a medical biotechnologist, and continues to pursue his passion for acting, appearing in productions for Mediaset and other production companies. Each role brings its own responsibilities and challenges, requiring different skills, perspectives, and approaches. From the scientific precision demanded by biotechnology to the communication involved in teaching and the creativity required on set, his professional life reflects a varied range of experiences. Rather than following a conventional career path, Fabio has embraced the opportunity to develop across different disciplines. His journey demonstrates how scientific knowledge, education, and artistic expression can coexist within the same professional identity. By combining these fields, he continues to explore different sides of his abilities, showing that a career does not always have to be defined by a single passion or profession.

He also tells us that…

To be a good actor, studying is certainly essential, but so are confidence, courage, and a great deal of humility. As he explains, “You won’t get anywhere by thinking you’re someone special.” A perspective that highlights the importance of remaining grounded, continuing to learn, and approaching every experience with an open mind. Inspiration comes primarily from a strong imagination, as well as from the people working behind the scenes. Experienced and talented professionals play an important role in guiding the team and helping everyone work towards achieving the best possible result. Acting is not just about what happens in front of the camera, but also about the collaboration and dedication of those who contribute to a production behind the scenes. There is no specific ritual before going on set. Instead, the tension is eased by making jokes or sharing a laugh with others, after taking a few moments to collect one’s thoughts and focus on what needs to be done or said during the scene. This balance between concentration and humour helps create a more relaxed atmosphere while maintaining the attention and preparation required on set.

During filming, the director usually gives actors the opportunity to take a moment to regain their concentration, review their lines, and prepare themselves before continuing with a scene. This possibility can be particularly useful when a sequence requires greater attention or when it becomes necessary to revisit certain details in order to deliver the intended performance. Having the time to reread the dialogue and refocus helps actors approach each scene with greater awareness, finding the right balance between preparation and interpretation. Improvisation is another aspect of acting, one that can bring spontaneity and unexpected nuances to a performance. However, as he explains, this is a skill more commonly associated with experienced actors who have developed the confidence and ability to adapt naturally to different situations on set. He does not yet consider improvisation part of his own approach, preferring instead to rely on the script and follow the director’s guidance. For him, respecting the dialogue and understanding what is required in each scene remain important elements of the acting process. It is also a way of continuing to learn through experience, observing the work of other professionals and gradually developing the skills needed to become more confident in front of the camera.

Beyond acting in commercials, you also work as a teacher and medical biotechnologist. What motivates you to pursue such different professional paths, and when can we expect to see you again in a television commercial?

I’ve always liked the idea of teaching. I believe that a teacher who has many stories to tell can establish a closer connection with students and help them in different ways. The experiences we gain outside the classroom can also become valuable tools for education, allowing us to share different perspectives and offer students more than academic knowledge alone. I began my studies in medical biotechnology many years ago, as I’ve always been curious about and fascinated by the world of medicine. Over time, I’ve continued to cultivate this interest alongside my other professional activities, finding value in each of the different paths I’ve chosen to pursue. I’m always looking for ways to improve myself. I don’t aim for permanent stability, but rather appreciate the idea of having more choices in life. I like being able to work hard while also making time to enjoy myself. For me, pursuing different professions means keeping an open mind, continuing to learn, and having the freedom to explore new opportunities without limiting myself to a single direction. As for when you’ll see me again in a television commercial, I honestly have no idea. However, there are some projects I’m currently working on that may be announced once they have been finalised. For now, I prefer to let things develop naturally and share more details when the time is right.

Until our next interview, I leave you with my warm regards.A sincere thank you from Micro Influencer Daniel Balan, where every project becomes a visual narrative and every connection a new story to tell.If you wish to follow my work and explore the world of Daniel Vision Lab, you can find me on Instagram at @danielbalan.official
